Terms and conditions

• You must be at least 18 years old.
• You must not have been banned from Moon before, and you must be allowed by law to use it.
• You may have only one account, and it must be yours.

Keep your login safe, and tell us straight away if you think someone else is using your account. You are responsible for what happens on it. The information you give us must be true, and your photos must be of you. When you join, you complete a live selfie check so we can confirm you are real and that your photos are yours; our privacy policy explains how that works. We may ask you to prove your age or verify yourself again at any time. If we find an account belongs to someone under 18, we close it straight away.

Moon is built for people looking for something real. When you use it, you agree not to:

• harass, threaten, bully or hurt anyone, on Moon or off it;
• pretend to be someone else, or lie about who you are;
• share sexual, violent, hateful or illegal content, or anyone’s private information;
• post anything obscene, pornographic or paedophilic, anything that invades someone’s privacy (including bodily privacy), defames anyone, or is hateful on grounds of gender, race, caste or religion, harms children, promotes gambling or money laundering, infringes someone’s rights, spreads false information, threatens India’s unity, security or sovereignty, or carries malware;
• ask anyone for money, or use Moon to sell, advertise or scam;
• contact a match outside Moon without their consent;
• use bots, scrape, or try to break, copy or get around how Moon works;
• use Moon for anything illegal.

Moon has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive members. You can report or block anyone you are introduced to, from your chat or your matches list; reporting someone also ends the match and stops them contacting you. We review every report, and we remove content and suspend or ban accounts that break these rules. Breaking these rules can also lead to legal penalties, and where the law requires it, we report it to the authorities. If you see someone breaking them, report them in the app or write to us.

You own what you add to Moon: your photos, your words, your messages. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, store, process and show it to run and improve Moon, for example to show your profile to your matches and to let Moon understand what you are looking for.

Moon uses AI to understand you and suggest people. We work hard to make good introductions, but we cannot promise that you will find a match, that anyone will reply, or that a match will be right for you. Moon’s suggestions are not advice.

What Moon says to you, and the profile it builds of you, come from AI. They are for information only. They can be wrong, they may reflect biases in how AI works, they are not psychological, medical or legal advice, and they are not a clinical assessment of you. If you need that kind of help, please speak to a qualified professional.

We do not run background checks on members beyond selfie verification, and we cannot guarantee how anyone behaves. You are responsible for your own interactions, on Moon and when you meet in person, and you take on the risks that come with them. In an emergency, contact the police.

Moon is free today. We may introduce paid features later. If we do, the price and refund terms will be shown before you pay, payments will be handled by third-party payment processors or the app stores, and refunds will follow Indian law, including the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

The Moon app, website, name, logo and design belong to us. You may use them only to use Moon as intended.

If you send us ideas or feedback about Moon, we may use them freely, without paying you or owing you anything for them.

You can delete your account at any time from the app, or from the web if you no longer have it. What happens to your data after that is explained in our privacy policy. We may suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, if you break these terms, put others at risk, give us false information, or if the law requires it.

Moon is provided “as is”. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for how members behave or what they post, for mistakes in what Moon’s AI says, or for indirect losses, such as lost profits or opportunities, that come from using Moon. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have by law that cannot be limited.

If you got Moon from the Apple App Store or Google Play, these terms are between you and us only, not Apple or Google. They are not responsible for Moon, its content, support or maintenance, or any claim about it. Apple and its subsidiaries may enforce these terms against you as a third party. You also agree to follow the store’s own terms when you use Moon.

We may update these terms as Moon grows. If a change matters, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. If you keep using Moon after that, you accept the new terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and any dispute will be handled by the courts of Bengaluru, Karnataka. Before going to court, please raise it with our grievance officer and give us 30 days to put it right. This does not affect your right to go to a consumer commission.

If you have a complaint about Moon, about another member, or about content on Moon, report it in the app or write to our grievance officer: Anindya Pal, Profoundly Connect Private Limited, No. 448, 3rd Floor, 17th Cross Road, Sector 4, HSR Layout, Bangalore South, Bangalore 560102, Karnataka, hello@profoundly.love. We acknowledge a complaint within 24 hours and resolve it within 15 days. Requests to take down content, and complaints that something on Moon infringes copyright or other rights, go to the same address.

• These terms and our privacy policy are the whole agreement between you and us about Moon.
• If a court finds part of these terms invalid, the rest still applies.
• If we do not enforce a term straight away, we have not given up the right to enforce it later.
• We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by things outside our reasonable control, such as outages, disasters or government action.
• You may not transfer your account or these terms to anyone else. We may transfer them to a company that takes over Moon, under the same terms.
• The parts of these terms that by their nature should last, such as your content licence for messages already sent, our responsibility and the law, continue after your account ends.
